This unit was easy to set up (only one minor adjustment required), peels the fruit well, and spiral slices while also coloring. In short, it does everything well that it it advertises. It is also very easy to rinse off, and can if you wish be run through a dishwasher, although you might want to remove the wooden portion of the handle. Personally, I’m looking for a plastic part to replace the wooden handle so that I can clean it in the dishwasher without worrying about the wooden handle.

I am very pleased with this! I had one quite similar to this but this just went right through the apples unlike the other. It’s stable and efficient. I didn’t have to adjust it but once. I do always put my hip against the handle while putting the apple in the prongs. I don’t need a slip, lol. So far I’ve canned 7 pints of chunky applesauce with it. I don’t like doing big batches unless I have help.

II couldn’t believe how much prep time and back ache this item saves. Directions for assembly were a bit confusing to me, but the manual directs one to a video, which was very helpful. I used to pare and core by hand, after which my lower back muscles were ready for a heating pad, not to mention how long it took me. This works extremely well on medium-sized apples. Large apples, not so much. Takes off a minimal amount of skin…just the right amount.
